There seemed to be a lot of police around parliament today. Every second person had on a uniform with many of them talking into their shirt collars. Must have been something big going down because there seemed to be camera crew by the mile as well. Many police also had riot shields amongst their kit.However all that didn't stop the changing of the guard ceremony.
We spent much of today making the obligatory visits to the many monuments that Athens is famous for. The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is an impressive venue - I think we had a televised performance from here by Pavarotti.
View of the Acropolis and the Pantheon - an impressive piece of restoration work going on there. I'm glad we visited on a Friday; I can imagine the crowds at the weekends.
Later in the day we took a city sight seeing bus to see what else we need to put in the agenda for tomorrow.

Hi - you are seeing so many sights its just as well you have kept he blog as a diary. We are back from Grandma and Jim's - we took them up to teh Golden Gate to read through the latest entry on the blog. We had printed everything until Thursday 4th June.
Glad you are having a good time - and an interesting time with your dry cleaner. Interesting to hear that the grafitti is quite prominent.
