Leaving Frankfurt

On Tuesday we had an urgent round table conference and decided to revise our travel plans for Germany.
While we have been travelling we have often mentioned Malcolm and Elizabeth Sutherland as they have travelled extensively in this part of the world. So it was really good to be able to visit their daughter Jane, son-in-law Paul and their family who are living and working in Weggis, Switzerland.
The first step was to see how practicable that was in terms of time and distance. The only way to do that was have Garmin plot a course for Basel and take us there. He was brilliant at getting us out of the big city. Had it been up to us I am sure we would have made much harder work of it.
As we got an hour and a half down the motor way we decided that Switzerland was definitely on and that we could be there by late afternoon. A quick call to Jane and all was confirmed and we were on our way.
