Around Rothenburg

This afternoon we walked the city walls and took in the wonderful sights within the walls. It was really interesting looking at the gardens at the back of some of the houses, the wavy roof lines and the different kinds of block walls. Probably the most interesting feature was the way the old city has been preserved. Apart from the area outside the Town Hall, there isn’t really a commercial centre since the whole of the old town is the commercial centre. Restaurants, various souvenir outlets and other retailers are dotted all over the old town. There is a ‘new town’ existing outside the walls.
There are so many picturesque objects it is often hard to decide what to photograph! Lynne stands in front of some of the beautiful buildings.
