A highland wedding

We had a special treat today - attending Derek and Donna's wedding held in the Church of Scotland in Campbeltown. As one might expect in Scotland, this occasion came complete with a range of stunning kilts, sporans and jackets for the men with the women too showing off their finery. All this was graced by some wonderful bagpipe music provided by Derek's uncle Phoncie.

As you will see from the photographs, Donna and Derek didn't let a little rain spoil their special day. Donna is all smiles and Derek looks the proper Scottish gentleman.

Derek and Donna outside the church with their immediate family.

Derek's cousin Claire, aunty Connie, his mother Margaret , cousin's wife Keely (sp?) and her daughter (Connie and Phoncie's grand daughter) Kirsty. Although not shown in the photos, Kirsty was seen dancing in time to Phoncie's bag pipe music at the reception.

A fine line up of Scottish gentlemen in their brilliant tartans.

Raquel and Lynne wait for their turn at being photographed with the bride and groom. Lynne and Raquel were made very welcome at the hairdresser's earlier in the day.

Donna and Derek arrive at The Hunting Lodge, Putchecan, for the wedding reception. The venue is a few kilometers outside Campbeltown and buses were put on to transport people to and from the reception. Some guests stayed overnight at The Hunting Lodge.

What better way to finish than with a brilliant Putchecan sunset taken from an upstairs bedroom window!
